Back To School Project Ideas

Believe it or not, Summer is coming to an end. This not only means that it’s time to squeeze in those last minute vacations, but it’s almost back to school time! As school is right around the corner, we wanted to share with you a few quick-and-easy creations that you can share with your children. Using both heat transfer and craft vinyl, we customized a sandwich container, pencil pouch and a binder! We'll show you how step-by-step!

Materials used

Sandwich Container

  1. Create your design and send it to your cutter
  2. Cut your design right reading
  3. Weed the sign vinyl
  4. You will need a transfer mask. We recommend using our Clear Application/Transfer Mask
  5. With the sticky side of the mask facing down, apply the mask over your weeded sign vinyl
  6. Use a squeegee if needed to get all the air bubbles out and to ensure that the sign vinyl is fully adhered to the mask
  7. Remove the original white back lining of the sign vinyl (the sign vinyl now should be only be sticking to the mask)
  8. Lay the design on your desired surface - in this case a plastic sandwich container!
  9. Use a squeegee to ensure that the sign vinyl fully adheres to the surface
  10. Remove the transfer mask

Pencil Pouch

  1. Create your design and send it to your cutter
  2. Cut your design in reverse
  3. Weed away the excess vinyl
  4. We used an iron - set your iron to the highest temperature setting
  5. Place your design on the pencil pouch and cover it with a Heat Press Release Sheet
  6. Attempt to apply medium and even pressure with your iron for about 5 seconds. The zippers of the pouch get in the way a little bit, so you may need to move your iron around to ensure even pressure. It may be necessary to add another 5 seconds. Simply press until your design is tacked down just enough for you to peel the liner.
  7. Peel the liner warm
  8. Place your Heat Press Release Sheet back on the design and repress for another 5 seconds or until the design is fully adhered to the pencil pouch

Binder

  1. Create your design and send it to your cutter. This PSG Textured Glitter functions as a sticker, so it is recommended to cut solid designs.
  2. Cut your design right reading (recommend no intricate designs)
  3. Weed away the excess vinyl
  4. You don’t need a transfer mask (and can’t use any)
  5. Simply peel your design off the liner and stick it onto any hard surface - in this case a binder!
