2021 Beginner's Guide to Heat Transfer Vinyl

Here at Heat Transfer Warehouse we sell a lot of products, but our main focus since the beginning has been heat transfer vinyl. There are SO many options when it comes to htv, and in this blog we are going to give you our beginner's guide to all things htv.
Standard HTV
First, let’s start off with our standard heat transfer vinyl. These products are your basic, go-to vinyls that are reliable and come in handy for all occasions. Another great thing about these products is that they are all layerable.
Easyweed
Siser Easyweed is a staple here at Heat Transfer Warehouse. It has a semi-gloss finish, with a matte finish option for their most popular colors. Easyweed has a sticky liner, and is great for detailed designs. It also has a 1 second tack which is useful if you are doing any layering or inlay of designs.
Thermoflex Plus
Thermoflex Plus offers a soft, matte finish and is available in a range of colors! It is 100 microns thick and comes in 12,” 15,” and 20.” It peels easily and can be layered, aside from the Dark Tiffany color.
WALAKut Express
WALAKut Express is a thin, elastic, soft to the hand vinyl that blends well into the textiles. Low-temperature application prevents undesirable effects such as glossiness and fiber damage! It comes in 12” widths and has a variety of color options, include fluorescents.
Stretch HTV
Stretch htv is almost the exact same thing as regular htv, with more give when it is pressed on fabric. It is soft to the touch and is easy to apply to garments.
Easyweed Stretch
Easyweed Stretch has all the same benefits as EasyWeed, but with added stretchability! It's the thinnest vinyl line from the Siser material. EasyWeed Stretch has an ultra-matte finish with a soft hand feel available in a wide range of colors. EasyWeed Stretch is great for your performance apparel as well!
WALAKut Soft
WALAKut Soft is a very thin material for a soft finished feel and wear that penetrates into the garment fibers. It is very elastic, easy to apply, and can be layered. It is designed for stretchable products and NOT intended for fine detailed designs.
Low-Temp HTV
This strong grip HTV is pressed at a low temp which allows it to be used across many different projects you may have. The lowest temperature application when applied to garments is typically around that 250 F - 265 F which is great for allowing it to be layered with those standard colors.
Turbo Low Temp
ThermoFlex Turbo is a universal product adhering to multiple fabrics, including cotton, polyester, cotton/polyester blends, and Nylon. It is durable, weeds easily, and has a soft hand and strong grip. Pressure-sensitive carrier enables easy weeding and repositioning.
Hotmark Revolution
Hotmark Revolution Low temp heat transfer vinyl is a versatile product! It will adhere to a wide range of garments such as cotton, polyester, acrylic AND nylon! Hotmark Revolution Low Temp is a thin and stretch material which makes it feel soft on the garments and great for all projects!
Textured and Smooth Glitter HTV
Siser Glitter will give you will the most sparkle without all the shedding of glitter flakes on your hands! This is great for kids of all ages that love the shimmer look and it's safe to apply on their clothing too since it's CPSIA Certified. Siser white Glitter can also be directly sublimated too! It is not great for small details.
WALAKut Glitter
WALAKut Glitter is coated with sparkling, glitter powder due to a unique production process with solvent-free adhesive. It has good washing resistance which means it will last you for a long time! Great for your garments and used for lettering on t-shirts, sport & leisure wear, sports bags, and promotional articles.
GlitterFlex Ultra
GlitterFlex Ultra is a stunning glitter product that is in high demand and very easy to use. With its sticky carrier sheet and actual polyester glitter flakes, this glitter will give you a wide variety of design possibilities. The glitter flakes are encased in a high-quality heat sealing adhesive. This allows for the material to be sublimated onto.
Siser Sparkle
Siser Sparkle is a smooth vinyl with a sparkly finish. Siser Sparkle HTV is offered in a wide variety of colors and transparencies. It is a great heat transfer vinyl for layering and small details. It also has a lot of flex.
Siser Twinkle
Siser Twinkle HTV is the new standard of glitter with a silicone like surface that is smooth to the touch and feels amazing, Siser Twinkle has reflective like properties and will shimmer in the light. Siser Twinkle HTV can be applied to most garments containing cotton, polyester applies at 305 fahrenheit. It is not recommended for small details or layering.
Siser Holographic
Create depth and dimension with Siser Holographic heat transfer vinyl! They contain color changing chips that take your designs to a whole new level with many special effect colors and finishes. It can also be used to create a faux rhinestone look!
Siser Holographic Pearl
Siser Holographic Pearl gives you the same shiny effect of Siser Holographic with a unique, pearlescent and color changing finish. There are 5 colors available!
Chameleon Glitter
DecoFilm Glitter Chameleon has the same unique color shifting abilities like Specialty Materials original Chameleon heat transfer vinyl, but now has glitter in it as well for added effect! It is dye sublimation friendly, but not recommended for small details.

Metallic HTV
Metallic htv is a great way to add a reflective shine to your garments. There are many different products with a lot of color options for each one. Here we discuss the options for metallics here.
Decofilm Soft Metallic
DecoFilm Soft Metallics offers a smooth and soft metallic finish to your designs! These patterns and finishes are stretchy and durable which is great to be applied to a wide range of garment types. DecoFilm Soft Metallics has a soft hand feel and when it is heat applied, it will take on the texture of the garment. If you want to dull down the shininess, simply do a 3 second re-press.

Siser Metal
Siser Metal features show stopping shine with a smooth finish and soft hand that can be washed and worn without becoming lackluster. This fashion forward material is ideal for bridal parties, spirit wear, and any occasion that needs a touch of gleaming chrome! Due to Metal’s pressure sensitive carrier, you can use a weeding pick (heating the platen and weeding the design on the heated surface) for smooth weeding! Metal can also be cut with laser systems.
Siser Easyweed Electric
Siser EasyWeed Electric offers an amazing finish that you've never seen from heat applied material. The pearlescent metallic sheen and vibrant colors will make all your designs pop. EasyWeed Electric is on a pressure-sensitive liner and makes detailed designs and logos easy to cut. Siser EasyWeed Electric is durable wash after wash and maintains its bright color and brilliant finish. EasyWeed Electric is able to be layered so achieve those multi-colored and multi-dimensional look design. Siser EasyWeed Electric is CPSIA Certified, so it can be used for decorating items intended for children.
Unique HTV
Now that we have gone over some of the typical types of heat transfer vinyl, it is time to talk about some of our more unique products we offer at Heat Transfer Warehouse. These next few are our dimensional options for htv, followed by a color-changing product.
StripFlock Pro
Siser's StripFlock Pro is a heat transfer vinyl that gives designs a suede textured look with a raised feel. With the wide variety of color options and the ability to layer, this product will give you the unique look, you desire! StripFlock Pro can also be layered on top of itself, for even more dramatic effects!
Siser Brick
Siser Brick 600 is a 600 micron thick and yet flexible heat transfer vinyl that works great for smaller logos or designs to add a little extra dimension to all of your garments. It has a matte finish which looks great on caps, bags, and is ideal for left chest logos. If you need a little dimension in your design, this is perfect. Siser Brick is popular in the corporate logo use and can be cut with laser systems.
WALAKut Puff
WALAKut Puff is a puff heat transfer vinyl that is easy to weed, easy to use, and only requires one press. WALAKut Puff has the largest variety of color options of any puff heat transfer vinyl. Once you press it, it rises from the heat!
FashionFlex Heat Changing Vinyl
FashionFlex Light Color Changing HTV is a white heat transfer vinyl that changes color when exposed to UV or Sunlight. It is very similar to ThermoFlex Plus in the way that it is matte and soft to the touch. It has a sticky carrier and is super easy to cut and weed. There is also a FashionFlex Heat Color Changing HTV, that is white until heat is applied.

Patterned HTV
Patterned htv is a fun way to add extra detail and make your garment pop. There are a few different options when it comes to patterned vinyl, including our own in-house line of products.
Chemica Fashions
Chemica Fashions have the same process as regular htv. There are many options from animal prints to camouflage all the way to faux leather. It is 50-170 microns thick and can be layered!
FashionFLEX
FashionFLEX has 3 different options for patterns: camouflage and two animal prints. This product will have a matte finish, is 90 microns thick, and is layerable!
Thermoflex Fashion Patterns
ThermoFlex Fashion Patterns allow you to decorate with patterned vinyl with ease! Most patterns need a mask to transfer to garments, but ThermoFlex Fashion Patterns come ready to Cut, Weed, and Press!
Siser EasyPatterns
Siser EasyPatterns gives you the look that you have been wanting! Easy cutting, weeding, and application makes working with EasyPatterns a breeze! Siser EasyPatterns come in 12” 25 yard rolls. There is a myriad of pattern options available for this product!
Printed Pattern
Our Patterned Vinyl is here for all your projects that you want that extra pop. These patterns come in 12 inch width and are made in-house by our artists. They are continuous patterns which means you can use every inch of the yard with no hard lines! These patterns are printed on our wide-format HP Latex printers which means you get the best quality print and color with every order. They need to be cut right reading and require a mask, we recommend our KTM mask. These patterns are good for small details and we are constantly getting new ones created!
