How to Make Custom Scrubs using HTV

Jun 28th 2021

Heat Transfer Warehouse is excited to offer a new line of clothing: WonderWink scrubs. With options for pants, lab coats, jackets, shirts, and even scrub caps, WonderWink will have you walking into your next clinic in style. We tested out different HTV on these 65/35 poly/cotton garments. For this blog, we chose to experiment with the WonderWink® Unisex WorkFlex™ Snap-Front Scrub Jacket.

This specific jacket has a 5-snap front closure, shoulder badge loop, and rib knit cuffs. It also offers top-loading front pockets and side vents. The color on this garment is Wine.

Siser Easyweed Sun Yellow:

In this design, we used Siser Easyweed Sun Yellow. We pressed this at 305 F for 15 seconds and peeled hot.

Thermoflex Plus Lavender:

This color is Thermoflex Plus Lavender. This was pressed at 330 F for 15 seconds, then peeled warm.

WALAKut Express Sky Blue:

For this design, we used WALAKut Express Sky Blue. We pressed this at 280 F for 5 seconds, then peeled warm.

Siser Easyweed Stretch Gold:

This color is Siser Easyweed Stretch Gold. We pressed this at 320 F for 20 seconds. After it was pressed, we peeled hot.

Siser Sparkle Grapevine:

In this design, we used Siser Sparkle Grapevine. The shimmer stands out great on this fabric! We pressed this transfer at 311 F for 15 seconds, then peeled warm.

Siser Holographic Purple:

Here we have Siser Holographic Purple. On a lighter garment the colors would pop better! We pressed this htv at 320 F for the full time of 15 seconds. Then we waited for the transfer to cool off as Siser Holographic is a cold peel.

Siser Brick White:

Here we have Siser Brick white. We pressed this at 311 F for 10 seconds and peeled cold. Then, we turned the scrubs inside out and pressed for 10 more seconds.

Decofilm Soft Metallics Blue:

This design was made from Decofilm Soft Metallics Blue. We pressed it at 305 F for 7 seconds. Then we peeled cold!

Siser Metal Bronze:

Siser Metal Bronze turned out GREAT with these scrubs. The reflective quality and the color contrast really make this design look smooth and polished. We pressed this at 305 F for 10 seconds, then we peeled cold.

Overall, every htv we tested worked great with this jacket. If you are looking to customize your scrubs, HTV is a perfect way of doing that. Siser Metal and Decofilm Metallics both turned out great and their reflective qualities provide good contrast against the scrubs.
